The news that H&M was arriving in Melbourne was one that most fashion lovers were thrilled to receive! Not only did those of us who have shopped at H&M know how amazing the stores around the world are, we all felt like Australia was somehow missing out... and now was our time!
With a chartered plane, countless fashionistas, bloggers, magazine editors and the likes, we trotted off to Sydney Airport in the direction of the fashion capital, Melbourne.
We were soon to discover that H&M do not do things by halves.
The plane was decked out in style with H&M seat covers, a magazine on each seat and with Melbourne only an hour away we were already making a wish-list of our favourite items.
On arrival we were all taken to Crown Metropol hotel and put into amazing suites to relax and get ready for a fun night ahead ( I was quick to slip into my robe )
The event was one of the largest (literally it's the largest H&M store in the world), and most spectacular I have seen in a while.
Gorgeous people everywhere metres of red carpet, canapés and incredible cocktail stations mixed amongst all of the incredible clothing departments.
The clothing is well priced (so incredibly cheap it's almost unbelievable) but the thing is, the quality is actually fantastic.
Fabulous textures, materials and accessories that are sure to stand the test of time. I bought 5 pieces and it cost me $52.00. WHAT?!
H&M has proved to be a one stop shop for ... well, everything. There is even a home-wares section which I can't wait to shop up a storm in on my next visit.
If you have a weekend to spare, take the time for a little shopping trip to Melbourne and make sure to take an empty suitcase!
With our bags full and our feet sore, we took our amazing gift ( a cashmere scarf ) back to our hotel and
called it a night, and what a night it was. I felt very very lucky.
I would definitely recommend a weekend getaway to Melbourne to shop up a storm, and with winter around the corner what a perfect excuse !
